Janette Godon

Janette started painting after a visit to a psychic in the 1990's.  She didn't give the suggestion much thought until she saw a notice in a Melbourne local paper for a watercolour class.  Although never having painted, she instantly loved the interaction between paper, water and paint.  “The relaxation from painting caused the hours to pass without me noticing.”

In 2013 she moved from Melbourne to Ballina and joined The Riverbend Art Group.  There she was introduced to acrylic's and, under the guidance of Maria Heaton, developed a colourful and bold style.  “I enjoy learning, developing new skills and experimenting with different techniques.”

The companionship, encouragement, positive feedback and support from the Group are also very important.

Inspiration comes from the abundance of colour in the nature that surrounds us.  “I feel blessed to be living in such a beautiful region.”

Janette has exhibited in Bentley, the Northern Rivers Regional Gallery, the BACCI exhibitions at The Masonic Centre, Nimbin, cafes in Ballina and has pantings on display at The Riverbend Village.

Her other interests include The Riverbend Singers, precious time with family and friends, live theatre, especially musicals and visiting exhibitions.
